His pulse quickened as he grabbed it.
Evidence dripping onto her desk,
Into his pants pocket.
Cracking his file drawer;
the others waited.

I must agree with several other comments. The first thing that I noticed was the sexuality. But then there was that ‘hiding’, which presented a sort of hidden danger. It was adding the straw to where ‘the others waited’ that screamed stalker.
